ASHINGTON ROBERTS PRESENT S/S 2015 COLLECTION

The Nebuta House museum in Japan served as the focal point of inspiration for Washington Roberts Spring Summer 15 collection. The building which is made out of 820 twisted steel ribbons implanted in Washington’s mind the idea of pleating fabric applied as contouring to frame the female form just as the twisted steel strips of the building does for it’s inhabitants.

As a young child growing up Washington had entertained the notion of becoming an Architect. For this collection he combined his love of architecture and fashion to create a really cohesive set of pieces with the singular idea of pleating at its core. For SS15 fabrics range from silk wool and satin face silk organza to a custom Italian woven lurex and organza stripe. The label has also for the first time worked on a custom digital ‘pleated’ print.
